CROSS BREEDING TO CREATE CULTIVARS
Sativa and Indica are the two primary sources of cannabis species. From these sources, selected cannabis plants have been cross-bred to develop specific characteristics.

F = Filial
In the cannabis industry, the ‘F’ stands for ‘Filial’ (from its Latin origins). The parent cannabis plant is called the P1 generation and their offspring the F1 generation. In other words, the genetic cross of two different plants is termed the first filial generation (F1).
Cultivars Are Important

Gene Expression – Plant Characteristics
The same cultivar can ‘express’ different characteristics. You just have to observe our cultivars to notice how wildly different each plant looks. (Even those of the same cultivar). Plants genetics and cultivation environment can impact the ‘expression’ of each single plant.
